Do I always have to use a rectangular foundation, as stated in the installation instructions?

No, you don’t. Most of our customers (probably more than 90 percent) set up the bases using appropriately sized core drill holes. As we can’t know every single potential environment, we have provided a plan catering to the most common subsurfaces.
