What are RAL colours?

The RAL colour chart is a standardised colour palette used worldwide. Each of its colours is assigned a unique number allowing it to be accurately defined without the need for samples. This makes colour communications easier, and ensures consistency. Despite the standardisation, minor colour differences among the various manufacturers cannot be totally discounted.
